Job summary

Addison Group in Irvine, CA seeks an experienced attorney to draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software, and licensing contracts. You will guide deals from intake to execution, partnering with product, tech, security, and leadership on legal matters.

You will provide practical advice on privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance, while supporting strategic programs and governance.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar admission (California preferred).
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant legal experience with strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience independently managing contracts and legal matters end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to advise cross-functional teams in regulated environments (tech/fintech).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong business judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage SaaS, software, vendor, data, licensing, confidentiality, and service agreements.
  • Oversee contracts from intake through negotiation, risk assessment, and execution.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, information security, sales, marketing, finance, operations, compliance, and leadership on legal matters.
  • Provide practical guidance on technology, privacy, data security, data use, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support strategic initiatives, new products, partnerships, and technology development.
  • Advise on consumer products, advertising, IP, governance, and risk management; support data licensing and partnerships.
  • Assist with corporate governance, board materials, and internal policies; manage outside counsel relationships.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate into actionable business guidance.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to at least one U.S. state bar; California admission preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Experience independently managing contracts and legal matters from start to finish.
  • Experience working with contract management or legal technology systems.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams within a technology, financial services, fintech, or other regulated environment.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to identify and prioritize material legal risks.
  • Ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice to business stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software, technology, vendor, data, licensing, confidentiality, and service agreements.
  • Manage contracts and legal matters from initial intake through negotiation, stakeholder alignment, risk assessment, and execution.
  • Partner with product, technology, information security, sales, marketing, finance, operations, compliance, and executive leadership on legal and business matters.
  • Provide practical legal guidance related to technology, privacy, data security, data use, vendor relationships, regulatory requirements, and operational matters.
  • Support strategic business initiatives, new products, partnerships, and technology development.
  • Advise on consumer-facing products, advertising and marketing, intellectual property, corporate governance, and risk management matters.
  • Support enterprise customer agreements, strategic partnerships, reseller arrangements, and data licensing transactions.
  • Assist with corporate governance, board materials, corporate records, subsidiary matters, and internal policies.
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel on litigation, employment, intellectual property, regulatory, and other specialized matters.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance for business stakeholders.
