The role offers autonomy with significant responsibility and direct exposure to the executive leadership team and investment sponsor on financial reporting, capital planning, and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience, with a significant portion in upstream oil and gas
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and oil and gas accounting practices
• Experience with private equity-backed companies or entrepreneurial environments preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting in a lean organization
• Experience overseeing audits and working with external auditors
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with executive leadership and investors

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting systems and coordination.
• Prepare internal and production reports and commodities reconciliations.
• Manage capital calls and investor reporting.
• Oversee revenue accounting and distributions.
• Lead operational accounting and production reporting support.
• Coordinate tax matters.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and controls.
• Maintain relationships with executives, investors, and auditors
