Job summary

AM General, a leading defense contractor, seeks a Senior Finance Executive to direct corporate accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP. You will partner with executives across functions, oversee audits, and drive internal controls and process improvements in a regulated environment.

Requires 15+ years in accounting/finance, CPA preferred, and defense industry experience. Strong communication and leadership are essential; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Defense industry experience required.
• 15+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• 10+ years’ experience managing accountants and the accounting process.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee corporate accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Oversee preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and related reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, CAS, FAR/DFARS and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Review significant transactions and document proper treatment.
• Coordinate with external auditors and government oversight.
• Lead ERP/financial system evaluations and improvements.
