Job summary

AM General, a defense-focused vehicle and systems integrator in Indiana, seeks an experienced corporate controller to lead accounting and financial reporting. You will supervise reconciliation, close processes, and compliance with U.S.

GAAP, CAS, and FAR/DFARS, while partnering with executives and external auditors to support sound business decisions. The role requires extensive leadership in accounting, a strong ethical framework, and the ability to navigate government contracting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Defense industry experience required.
• 15+ years in accounting and finance.
• 10+ years managing accountants and the accounting/finance process.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
• Credible, ethical, and responsible with clean financial history.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the Company’s corporate accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee consolidation and related financial reporting packages per U.S. GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, CAS, FAR/DFARS and other gov contracting rules.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, controls, and processes.
• Review significant transactions and documentation for proper accounting treatment.
• Monitor balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, accruals, and reserves.
• Ensure proper accounting for revenue, contracts, inventory, assets, leases, debt, taxes, and pensions.
• Resolve complex accounting issues and coordinate with external advisors.
• Serve as financial partner to executives and external auditors/stakeholders.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audit and ERP improvements.
