Placements24 is assisting a client in Welkom to hire a seasoned Corporate Attorney to join their established legal team. This role focuses on mergers, acquisitions, governance, and strategic corporate initiatives to support growth and success.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of corporate law experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to manage complex transactions while ensuring regulatory compliance in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of corporate law experience.
• Experience in handling complex corporate transactions and advisory work.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate law and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of professional responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Advise on corporate governance matters, including board resolutions and shareholder agreements.
• Manage and execute corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate laws and securities regulations.
• Conduct legal due diligence for potential investments and partnerships.
• Manage regulatory filings and corporate record-keeping.
