Senior Corporate Accountant
Help Build What’s Next at NearU Services

NearU Services is growing—and with that growth comes opportunity.

We are building a company designed for the future: one that brings together strong local businesses, talented people, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.

As NearU continues to expand, our Finance organization is becoming an increasingly important part of that story. Growth brings complexity, and we need strong financial processes, accurate reporting, and disciplined accounting practices to help us scale successfully.

That’s where you come in.

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant who enjoys more than simply closing the books. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand the business behind the numbers, identify opportunities to improve processes, ask thoughtful questions, and take ownership of getting things right.

This is an opportunity to join a growing corporate team and work closely with a Corporate Controller who values accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and a high standard of excellence.

If you’re looking for a role where your accounting expertise can make a meaningful impact—and where you can continue to grow as the organization grows—NearU may be the place for you.

The Opportunity

As Senior Corporate Accountant, you will play an important role in helping maintain the financial foundation that supports NearU’s continued growth.

You’ll work closely with the Corporate Controller and Finance team to support the monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, analysis, internal controls, and ongoing process improvements.

You’ll be someone the team can rely on to dig into the details, identify what doesn’t look right, understand the “why” behind the numbers, and help find solutions.

As NearU continues to grow, our processes and systems will continue to evolve. This position provides an opportunity to be part of that evolution—helping strengthen accounting practices today while helping build the infrastructure we’ll need tomorrow.

What You’ll Do
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger accounting activities.
  • Support timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial activity and investigate unusual transactions, discrepancies, or variances.
  • Research accounting issues and help develop appropriate resolutions.
  • Assist with maintaining and strengthening internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, improve, and standardize accounting processes.
  • Partner with the Corporate Controller on accounting projects, reporting initiatives, and other business priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and other departments to obtain information and resolve issues.
  • Assist with special projects as NearU continues to expand and evolve.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bring forward ideas that can make the Finance function more efficient and effective.
Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is curious about the business, comfortable with the details, and motivated by doing things the right way.

You may be someone who has developed a strong accounting foundation and is ready for a role that provides greater exposure, ownership, and opportunity to grow.

The right person will be:

  • Detail-oriented — You notice when something doesn’t look right and have the discipline to investigate it.
  • Analytical — You can look beyond the numbers to understand what they are telling you.
  • Accountable — You take ownership of your work and follow through.
  • Curious — You ask questions and want to understand how and why things work.
  • Collaborative — You enjoy working with others and know that great results rarely happen in isolation.
  • Adaptable — You are comfortable in an organization where things are evolving and improving.
  • Growth-minded — You’re interested in developing your skills and taking on new challenges as the company grows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Several years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
