Job summary

Transform9 is hiring a senior engineer and technical lead for the Core Platform. You will own the real-time voice pipeline, call routing, and orchestration while setting architectural direction and ensuring reliability across production systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive design decisions, and collaborate with product and customer success to optimize operator workflows. This role is remote in the US with hybrid options for Birmingham, AL if desired.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production backend or distributed systems.
• Experience leading or tech-leading engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in modern backend stacks (Python/TypeScript).
• Background in real-time systems, event-driven architectures, or telephony/voice platforms is a plus.
• Proven ability to own complex systems end-to-end and drive to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture for the Core Platform with real-time voice processing and call routing.
• Own features end-to-end including design, implementation, tests, deployment and monitoring.
• Uphold engineering standards through code reviews, feedback, and documentation.
• Partner with product and infra to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Serve as primary escalation point for production issues affecting call flows.
• Mentor engineers and shape team processes and culture.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and incident retrospectives.
• Develop production-grade software that meets HIPAA and healthcare security standards.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Product to translate operator workflows into great UX.
