Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editorial professional to lead editorial activities within the Assessment & Qualifications domain. The role focuses on applying style guides, ensuring consistency across components, and mentoring other editors.

You will work with cross-functional teams across CDS/Asset Services and Pearson, contributing to checklists and process improvements. The position emphasizes editorial quality, risk awareness, and adherence to copyright and accessibility standards, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ experience in educational assessment.
• Strong end-to-end copyediting proficiency: spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage.
• Ability to interpret major style guides (Chicago, Gregg, Garner’s, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components.
• Queries deviations from client style guidelines when appropriate.
• Understands copyeditor’s scope and raises concerns when needed.
• Seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
