Job summary

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of international freight forwarding experience involving ocean import/export (NVOCC) and air freight.
• 2+ years of CargoWise experience.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding documentation, customs processes, and global trade regulations.
• Experience coordinating multiple transportation modes, including ocean, air, road, and rail.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex logistics operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics/shipment-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ocean import/export freight forwarding operations for assigned accounts.

• Monitor shipment performance and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
• Resolve escalated logistics and customer service issues.
• Coordinate with carriers, vendors, overseas agents, and other service providers.
• Review negotiated freight rates for cost effectiveness and budget alignment.
• Audit shipment data and documentation; provide training and performance feedback as needed.
• Ensure compliance with global trade requirements, including FMC regulations.
• Review billing/payment accuracy, prepare invoices, process vendor payments, and support profit-margin tracking.
• Maintain SOPs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Position Summary

The Senior Coordinator manages daily international freight forwarding operations with primary responsibility for ocean import/export shipments and customs clearance. This role independently manages assigned customer accounts while overseeing operational accuracy, service quality, regulatory compliance, and the work of forwarding specialists.

Other Details

Standard office environment. Role may require occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.

This role may include additional responsibilities as needed based on business needs.
