You will prepare, season and cook from scratch while maintaining safety, cost controls and timely service across hospital kitchens and catering events.

Responsibilities include following recipes, supervising food prep activities, and ensuring compliance with sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written English communications; active listening and time management.
• Proficient in cooking techniques and following recipes for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the role are required.
• Ability to work alternate schedules, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of common cooking terminology and standard weights/measures to adjust recipes.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop upscale, culturally diverse menus for patient care, retail operations and catering.
• Prepare, season, and cook food from scratch using recipes and standard methods.
• Control costs, manage requisitions, and ensure proper storage of food items.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures and policies per UC guidelines.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and health-system teams to maintain quality and service.
