University of California - Irvine Health seeks a Senior Cook to design and implement upscale, culturally diverse menus for patient care, retail operations and catering. You will prepare and cook dishes from scratch, manage costs and ensure strict sanitation and safety standards across the hospital food service.

The role requires experience in a large kitchen, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work rotating days/nights and weekends in a fast-paced health system setting.

Qualificações

• English verbal and written communication required.
• Skilled in various cooking techniques and following recipes.
• Experience as a cook or in a main kitchen/cafeteria.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to work alternate schedules including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of cooking terminology and standard weights to adjust recipes.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across the Health System.

Responsabilidades

• Concept and implement upscale, culturally diverse menus and recipes for patient care, retail and catering.
• Prepare, season and cook using recipes, from scratch with basic ingredients and some conveniences.
• Manage cost control, requisitioning and proper storage of food items.
• Enforce sanitation and safety procedures in line with policies.
• Support the UC Health system in delivering high-quality meals and service.
