Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites you to join the Food Service team at Mexia State Supported Living Center as a Cook III. This role performs advanced food production tasks, provides shift leadership, and ensures meals meet regular and modified diets for residents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation methods.
• Knowledge of food storage standards and sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of specialized diets and textures.
• Ability to guide, train and oversee other staff.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may follow a rotating shift.
• Reviews menus for diet and texture requirements and adjusts recipes.
• Serves as shift lead and ensures timely meal delivery per guidelines.
• Implements sanitation, safety and hygiene standards in all food service areas.
• Oversees inventory and coordinates supplies and equipment maintenance.
