Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Convention Services Manager at a similar sized hotel with large groups and conventions.
• Expert in time management and front-facing customer service.
• Strong food and beverage knowledge for large-scale events.
• Expert in guiding customers with event setups and diagrams.
• Experience with large outsourced exhibits, drayage, and production companies.
• Proven track record managing complex events including weddings, galas, and conventions.
• Excellent communication skills in English with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with customers using attractive proposals to maximize revenue and fulfill contracts.
• Obtain all event information including specifications, AV, rooming, and F&B requirements well in advance.
• Drive space optimization to maximize guest experience and financial performance.
• Produce and distribute group resumes, BEOs and diagrams to all departments promptly.
• Forecast room blocks and space use; calculate attrition with accounting.
• Manage billing procedures and deposits within agreed time frames.
• Conduct pre- and post-convention meetings to confirm details with customers and departments.
• Perform planning site inspections as required.
• Ensure on-site meeting arrangements meet planners' specifications and adapt to changes.
