Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a seasoned Controls Technician for a day shift in the southwest Atlanta area. The role will involve designing, integrating, and installing automated equipment, building PLC panels, and programming to bring systems online.

You will configure, test, operate, maintain and troubleshoot controls and automated production systems, including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, and safety circuits. Opportunities exist to train others.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming with context clues within the PLC program.
• Ability to program machine processes from scratch.
• Wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Identify information from motor data plates for specing-out or programming components like contactors, soft starters, and VFDs.
• Familiarity with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, and dry contact.
• Analog control: 4-20mA and 0-10V signals.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building and electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration.
• Authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Pneumatics: Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
• Hydraulic: Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits with check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, and valves.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer.
• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Use knowledge of fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
• Operate or oversee operation of equipment and analyze events.
• Work with engineers and production teams to achieve output goals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, upgrades, and inspections.
• Repair machine controls, systems, and tools as needed.
• Disassemble/re-assemble equipment to replace defective parts.
• Train others to install, use, and service equipment.
