We’re looking for an experienced Senior Controls Technician to lead cutting‑edge building automation projects and shape the future of smart HVAC systems. In this role you will take ownership of complex, high‑impact initiatives—driving every phase from concept and design to commissioning and optimization. You will provide expert guidance, hands‑on troubleshooting, and mentorship to elevate team performance.

Select hardware from multiple control vendors and validate the quality and adequacy of supplies and installations.
  • Develop and integrate advanced control system programs, ensuring seamless operation of complex building automation systems.
  • Oversee and assist with commissioning of controls and associated equipment. Provide senior‑level technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and field teams, driving quality, safety, and compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with subcontractors, technicians, and mechanics to align on agreements and work scope.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and technical resource, offering expert guidance, coaching, and hands‑on troubleshooting to resolve complex issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the company in high‑impact meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Support cost estimation and proposal development, providing technical recommendations and serving as a trusted advisor throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure safe operations in strict accordance with company policies and procedures; proactively minimize hazards and manage claims.
  • Commit to continuous learning, maintaining a competitive edge through self‑study, certifications, and mastery of company standards, practices, and product lines.
  • Actively contribute to company‑wide initiatives that enhance organizational success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
  • Completion of a technical program in a related field plus 5 years or more experience in HVAC controls and building automation systems, including proficiency with Tridium Niagara.
  • Proven success in leading large‑scale, complex controls projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering fundamentals, commissioning processes, HVAC principles, and business operations.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Windows OS, and control system software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration and represent the company professionally in alignment with its values and mission.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally based on project and operational requirements.
  • Experience with Distech Controls installation preferred.

  • This position will report regularly in person to Eau Claire, WI.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites; local/regional travel as required by projects and operational needs.
