Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems and energy efficiency, seeks a Controls Project Manager to lead large mechanical construction projects in the local New Hampshire area with remote work and site travel as needed.

The role ensures profitable project execution from planning through closeout, delivering on time, within scope and budget while complying with contract and safety requirements. Candidates need PMI-related goals and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of direct project management experience in building construction.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple subcontractors and scopes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems.
• Commitment to PMI/PMP certification within two years of employment.
• Willingness to travel as required by project assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site execution for mechanical construction projects and coordinate the project team through completion.
• Support sales and project development activities early in TAS and development process.
• Develop project schedules and manage execution against plan.
• Review contractual scope and adjust for client directives and scheduling changes.
• Pursue change orders, prepare cost estimates and proposals, and negotiate settlements.
• Manage costs, billings, collections, and project financial performance.
• Review contract terms and conditions and elevate issues when needed.
• Oversee construction work for compliance with specs, codes, and safety.
• Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules.
• Build relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and subs.
• Coordinate with CMS, HVAC, and branch project teams to align resources.
