Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Controls Integration Engineer to bring control algorithms from analysis into hardware, integrating, tuning, and validating them on avionics and test stands to ensure safe, predictable behavior. The role supports IHIL environments and involves leadership of major IHIL design efforts.

Responsibilities include leading integration projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across programs to improve control system integration.

Qualifications

• BS in a STEM field (Aero/Mech/Electrical/Controls) and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience designing, building, commissioning, and operating aerospace/test equipment.
• Experience with data and control systems setup, operation, and processing.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, deploy, and tune control algorithms onto controller electronics and avionics hardware.
• Design, build, and operate IHIL test environments.
• Bring up real-time control surfaces, valves, actuators, and instrumentation.
• Integrate driver-level PLC and packaged control interfaces with system hardware.
• Lead test stations: gather requirements, design test cards, coordinate stakeholders, and generate test logs.
• Resolve anomalies across controls/avionics/software boundary during development and testing.
