Job summary

Blue Origin Engineers is seeking a Controls Integration Engineer to bring control algorithms from analysis into hardware, tuning them on avionics and test stands to ensure safe, predictable system behavior.

You will design IHIL environments, lead test activities, and collaborate with controls, avionics, and software teams while mentoring junior engineers. Relocation assistance is provided; travel up to 50% is expected to support hardware integration across sites in Kent, WA or Huntsville, AL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with aerospace test equipment.
• Experience with data and control systems setup and calibration.
• Willingness to support off shifts.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, deploy, and tune control algorithms on avionics hardware.
• Design, build IHIL test environments.
• Bring up real-time control surfaces, valves, actuators, instrumentation.
• Integrate driver-level PLC interfaces with system hardware.
• Lead test stations: requirements, test cards, stakeholders, logs.
• Resolve anomalies across controls/avionics/software boundary.
• Correlate hardware behavior with model predictions and share lessons.
• Lead major IHIL design aspects and mentor junior engineers.
