Job summary

ICS Online seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to join its engineering team in California. You will design, develop and implement industrial automation and SCADA systems across the full project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning, site acceptance, and support.

You will program PLCs and SCADA (Ignition), configure HMIs, manage databases, and integrate with third‑party equipment. A strong background in IEC 61131‑3, industrial networks, and offshore or field testing is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering.
• 5–8 years in industrial automation and controls engineering.
• Experience with ControlLogix/CompactLogix PLCs and Ignition SCADA (Perspective and Vision) and MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Define functional requirements via workshops and site assessments.
• Design control strategies and automation architectures.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (IEC 61131-3).
• Configure Ignition SCADA and HMIs, integrate with PLCs and databases.
• Develop templates, UDTs, and reusable automation objects.
• Support FAT/SAT/UAT and field commissioning.
