Job summary

eZone Staffing, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and optimize industrial automation systems from the Morrisville, NC area. You will develop PLC/HMI software, integrate sensors/actuators, and program robots for collaborative and non-collaborative settings, interfacing with vision systems.

Responsibilities include electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical, interpreting mechanical drawings, and ensuring system performance through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in engineering or related discipline (BSEE preferred).
• 4+ years in automation industry.
• 3+ years PLC development experience (Allen-Bradley preferred, Omron).
• Configuring and designing HMI systems (Allen Bradley, PC-based).
• Configuring and programming Motion Controllers/Actuators.
• Programming robots and autonomous mobile robots (Fanuc, UR, MIR).
• Experience troubleshooting control system issues.
• Experience writing User Manuals and IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
• Experience training operators and engineers on new equipment.
• Desirable: Vision/Laser systems programming (Cognex, Keyence, LMI).
• Desirable: National Instruments SW/HW programming/integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Interpret mechanical drawings for electrical needs (SolidWorks).
• Research supplier products for electrical and controls components.
• Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per specs.
• Verify quality of assemblers and technicians’ work.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers on quotes as needed.
• Define requirements for HMI/communication interface and networking.
• Review and update legacy code for field use.
• Troubleshoot issues with current company systems.
• Design and develop controls systems per specs or new concepts.
• Program PLCs and HMIs from scratch for integration.
