Job summary

Air Liquide seeks a Controls Engineer in Morrisville, PA to design, implement, and troubleshoot automated control systems. You will work with a cross-functional team to upgrade hardware and software, develop PLC/SCADA/HMI applications, and ensure compliance with ISA, NEC, and OSHA standards.

The role requires experience with Allen-Bradley controls, Rockwell Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk, plus strong problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience in process control.
• Experience programming PLC/DCS and local controllers for chemical plant design and operation.
• Knowledge of UL, NEC, NFPA standards for hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot automated industrial control systems at Morrisville, PA site.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on troubleshooting, programming, and installation of controls.
• Upgrade control system hardware and software to improve data collection and operations.
• Develop and modify PLC/SCADA/HMI applications to meet process needs.
• Specify and troubleshoot instruments measuring pressure, temperature, flow, and level.
• Create and update instrument and control engineering documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, schematics).
• Troubleshoot software/hardware malfunctions to support plant operations.
• Ensure installations meet ISA, NEC, OSHA standards and safety regulations.
• Oversee installation, testing, and startup of new control systems during plant mods.
• Guide loop/interlock testing and participate in Process Hazards Analysis.
• Contribute to design reviews and process safety activities.
