Job summary

Koops, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design, develop, and debug control systems for end-of-line packaging equipment across industries. You will program PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion control, and create electrical layouts and schematics using CAD tools.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration, strong communication, and travel around 25% for on-site support and startup tasks. A four-year engineering degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent applicable work experience.
• At least 5 years of Controls Engineering experience in automation.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug control systems for end of line packaging equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion control systems.
• Develop electrical layouts and detailed schematics using CAD software.
• Integrate sensors, pneumatics, and vision systems into automation solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, project, and build teams.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Support on-site debugging and system startup as needed (travel ~25%).
