Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a mid-level to senior Controls Electrical Engineer to design, program, commission, and optimize industrial automation and control systems. The role spans concept through start-up, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various industries.

You will design electrical schematics, control panels, MCCs, and select instrumentation, then program PLC/HMI and support system testing and commissioning in diverse industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• PE licensure is a plus.
• 5-15 years of experience in controls, automation, or industrial electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and motor control applications.
• Experience designing and implementing automation solutions in industrial environments.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and support the start-up of PLC, HMI, and servo-driven automation systems.
• Develop complete control system designs, including electrical schematics, control panels, instrumentation, MCCs, PLC and HMI hardware and software.
• Perform PLC/HMI programming, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve complex engineering and integration challenges, including coordination, design, and system performance issues.
• Serve as a technical liaison between clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
• Support projects from conceptual design through implementation and start-up activities.
