Job summary

L&S Electric, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer to design, test, and commission electrical and control systems for industrial applications.

This role involves leading projects, analyzing requirements, and developing SCADA/PLC/HMI programs with a focus on reliability and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or EET and 5+ years of hands-on industrial experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or EET from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in engineering systems within industrial environments (pulp/paper, water/wastewater, food/beverage, packaging).
• Extensive knowledge of electrical control systems and related technologies.
• Expertise with PLCs, HMIs, Drives, EIDs, and instrumentation; ability to troubleshoot remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from conceptualization to completion.
• Assess requirements: timelines, resources, costs, technical needs.
• Manage hardware/software work requests.
• Conduct electrical/control analyses to meet requirements.
• Create/modify SCADA, PLC, HMI, and VFD programs.
• Prepare system operation descriptions, O&M Manuals, FAT/SAT tests.
