Job summary

Thermo Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer III for an onsite role in Sparks, NV. You will lead design, integration and commissioning of automation projects, ensuring safe and reliable delivery in line with project requirements.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in industrial automation and strong PLC/HMI expertise, with ability to travel up to 50% and lead tasks across small to mid-sized projects. Competitive compensation and annual bonus eligibility are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform FAT for automation systems and ensure quality.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical diagrams and provide field feedback.
• Develop and implement PLC-based and HMI automation solutions.
• Review project documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver tasks on time and within project scope.
• Identify technical challenges and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical issues to leadership.
