North Point Technology, LLC is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to lead a ground‑up manufacturing automation implementation for a major automotive manufacturer in Maumee, Ohio. The role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning controls and MES integration with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Ignition.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience delivering PLC, HMI/SCADA, and MES functionality from design through production launch, not just maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience writing new PLC programs from scratch.
• Hands‑on with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix/GuardLogix and Studio 5000.
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Experience integrating PLCs with MES.
• Automotive or high‑volume manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ControlLogix/GuardLogix PLC programs from the ground up using Studio 5000.
• Develop PLC architecture including ladder logic, tags, UDTs, AOIs, sequencing, diagnostics.
• Design and build Ignition HMI/SCADA applications with alarms and scripting.
• Develop and implement PLC‑to‑MES communication.
• Support work‑order validation, traceability, recipes, and production reporting.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and IT teams during implementation.
• Perform commissioning, FAT/SAT, and production launch activities.
• Troubleshoot controls hardware, software, and industrial networks.
