Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer III to support design, integration, and delivery of automation projects in industrial environments. You will lead project tasks, guide engineering teams, and ensure safe, reliable system delivery aligned with requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 4+ years in automation, with hands-on PLC/HMI development, P&ID interpretation, and IT/networking knowledge. Travel up to 60% may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Lead FAT tests for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics; provide field condition feedback.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Contribute to design and implementation of complex control systems.
• Provide instrumentation specifications for automation and control designs.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver tasks on schedule within project scope.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
• Communicate with customers and trade partners throughout lifecycles.
