Job summary

Thermo Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer III to design, integrate, and deliver automation and control system projects across industrial environments. You will lead tasks or small projects, providing engineering expertise through design, implementation, testing, and commissioning phases.

In collaboration with project managers and commissioning teams, you will ensure safe, reliable delivery aligned with requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Lead FATs for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics and provide feedback on field conditions.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver assigned engineering tasks on schedule and within scope.
• Identify technical challenges and proactively develop solutions.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
