Job summary

Thermo Systems onsite in Montgomery, AL seeks a Controls Engineer III to lead design, integration, and delivery of automation projects across industrial environments. You will work with project managers, engineers, and commissioning teams to ensure safe, reliable system delivery and client satisfaction.

The role requires a BS in a technical field and 4+ years in industrial automation, with PLC and HMI expertise, and the ability to travel up to 50% of time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Eng, Mechanical Eng, CS or related field.
• Typically 4+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform FATs for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver assigned engineering tasks on schedule and within scope.
• Identify and develop solutions for technical challenges.
