Job summary

Leoforce in Vallejo, CA seeks an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to design instrumentation and control systems for custom equipment and to program PLC/HMI systems across platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, and Modicon.

You will review P&IDs, select components, and collaborate with panel shops through fabrication, testing, and as‑built documentation, while supporting commissioning and field troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of controls engineering experience in OEM or industrial environments.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Rockwell, Siemens, GE or Modicon.
• Experience designing control panels, schematics, and instrumentation systems.
• Solid knowledge of P&IDs, process controls, VFDs, and NFPA/NEC standards.
• Willingness to support commissioning and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design instrumentation and control systems for custom equipment, including panels and schematics.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs across major platforms.
• Review P&IDs and select instrumentation and system components.
• Collaborate with panel shops from design through fabrication and testing.
• Support testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting of control systems.
• Interface with customers to resolve issues and implement changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and cost.
