Job summary
Jobot is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission OEM equipment in Vallejo, CA with the flexibility of remote work. You will own PLC/control solutions from concept through commissioning, collaborating with project teams and customers to deliver robust industrial systems.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in controls engineering, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, or Modicon
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of controls engineering experience in OEM or industrial environments.
- Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, GE, and/or Modicon.
- Experience designing industrial control panels, electrical schematics, and instrumentation/control systems.
- Solid understanding of NEC and NFPA and other industrial standards.
- Ability to support equipment commissioning and troubleshoot field issues.
Responsibilities
- Design instruments and control systems for custom-engineered industrial equipment, including control panels and system documentation.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs using major platforms (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Modicon).
- Review P&IDs and select instrumentation, VFDs, pumps, and control components.
- Work with panel fabricators from design through drawing review, fabrication and commissioning.
- Support equipment testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
