Job summary

Edison Smart is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead development, programming, and support of control systems across products and projects. This hands-on role focuses on delivering safe, reliable automation solutions for complex critical infrastructure.

The role involves collaborating with engineering, design, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to develop control solutions, troubleshoot challenges from design through delivery, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
5+ years in Controls Engineering, Automation, or related experience.
Strong hands-on PLC and HMI programming experience.
Working knowledge of SCADA and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet).
Experience coordinating technical aspects of customer projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and support PLC and HMI programming for complex control systems.
Review customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Support development and integration of control systems across power equipment.
Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, quality, and field issues.
Create technical documentation, procedures, and training materials.
