Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a senior controls engineer to own BMS/EPMS projects across AWS data centers. You will design, configure, validate, install and operate BMS and EPMS systems, working with cross-functional teams.

You will travel locally to data centers, manage scope, schedule and budgets, support on-call needs, and develop control sequences while aligning with Amazon leadership principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 15+ years of experience in lieu.
• 10+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, pharma, manufacturing...).
• 9+ years of project or vendor management experience in construction and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers with design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS.
• Provide technical assistance and support to operations during data center life cycle and review quarterly maintenances.
• Develop BMS/EPMS project scope, schedule, budget and LOE.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects.
• Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide BMS/EPMS support.
