Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Hickory, NC seeks a qualified engineer to lead and/or participate on project teams developing new manufacturing technology to reduce cost, increase capacity, and improve products using expertise in electrical design and automation.

You will manage electrical and controls scope, implement robust automation, interface with external integrators, and guide projects from design through start-up, with frequent cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• BSEE / BSCS with 4+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix v20+ systems.
• Experience in programming HMI/SCADA systems (Red Lion / GE iFIX).
• Ability to generate, debug and modify PLC code (ladder, structured text, function block).
• Strong safety knowledge per NEC/NFPA and proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical and controls scope for process improvement and capital projects.
• Implement robust, cost-effective automation and control systems.
• Interface with external system integrators to deliver fully integrated equipment.
• Participate in design, fabrication, off-line integration, testing, installation and start-up.
• Provide training and support for plant personnel and technology transfer.
