Job summary

Dana Incorporated is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to install and support PLC, HMI, and vision-based systems for a manufacturing environment. You will design and modify programmable logic controls and assist in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on a variety of production equipment.

Responsibilities include developing electrical schematics, wiring, and equipment integration with third-party peripherals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
• 5+ years of Controls experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience in Fanuc robotics troubleshooting/programming.
• Experience in Allen Bradley troubleshooting/programming.
• Minimal travel may be required.
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift and overtime hours based on business needs.
• Understanding of Ethernet networks as it pertains to PLC interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Install and provide technical support for PLC, HMI, safety, servo, and vision-based hardware/software.
• Perform machine vision integration and troubleshooting with Keyence, Cognex, Datalogic, etc.
• Design/modify PLCs and related electrical controls for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on machinery.
• Develop/maintain electrical drawings in AutoCAD and interpret electrical schematics.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC, HMI, safety, servo, and vision-based hardware and software including, but not limited to: RSLogix 500/5000, Siemens, AVIX View, FT View Studio, SICK, Keyence, etc
• Machine vision experience and knowledge (Keyence, Cognex, Datalogic, etc)
• Must be able to determine correct size of electrical components for PLC or PC based systems.
• Have a working knowledge of HMI (Human Machine Interface) devices.
• Design and engineering of programmable logic controls (PLC’s) and modifications for a wide variety of manufacturing production equipment
• Experience with Automation motion devices. Servo motors and controllers, variable frequence drives.
• Direct electrical assembly activities such as panel fabrication and component wiring
• Evaluate and approve new equipment electrical and PLC programs for accuracy, function, completeness and documentation.
• To assist in the troubleshooting of machine malfunctions to include electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits.
• Develop/ Maintain electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
• Capable of troubleshooting hard-wired relay logic machine control panels. This includes field repairs, i.e., replacing existing components and wiring.
• Have a working knowledge and experience with multiple phase electrical systems, including electrical distribution systems consisting of buss and switchgear equipment.
• Systems integration of 3rd party equipment and peripherals
• Must have good understanding of Ethernet networks as it pertains to PLC interfaces.
