Job summary

Dana Incorporated is seeking a Sr. Controls Technician to provide hands-on technical leadership in our automotive production environment in Michigan.

You will coordinate daily activities, resolve complex issues, and mentor junior technicians to ensure equipment functionality and product quality. Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of Rockwell PLC programming, HMI development, and hydraulics/pneumatics with at least 7 years in controls-related roles, including plant-floor operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of controls or automation experience noted in the job description.
• 3+ years of controls-related experience required.
• Plant floor experience on automotive lines.
• Rockwell PLC programming and HMI development knowledge.
• Electronics, mechanical equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics familiarity.
• Knowledge of problem solving, troubleshooting, and controls standards.

Job Purpose

The Sr. Controls Technician provides hands-on technical leadership and support for manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment functionality, process efficiency, and product quality in an automotive production environment. This role coordinates daily activities, resolves complex technical issues, and serves as a mentor to other technicians. The Sr. Controls Technician works closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to maintain smooth operations and drive continuous improvement.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Education And Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Trade School, or Associate’s Degree
• 7+ years of experience
• 3+ years of controls related experience
• Plant floor experience
• Rockwell Automation PLC programming and HMI development.
• Electronics and mechanical equipment, and hydraulics and pneumatics
• Mechanics and machine functions knowledge.
• Knowledge of problem solving experience troubleshooting.ooting and approval of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic controls. Also, assist in the preparation of control standards and technical manuals.
