Job summary
Hargrove Controls + Automation, LLC seeks an experienced controls and automation engineer to lead design efforts across industrial projects. The role includes developing architecture, installation specs, BOMs, and cost estimates, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring smooth startup.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in automation, strong IEC 61131/ISA S88 experience, and familiarity with major DCS/PLC/HMI platforms. PE preferred; on-site work in Birmingham, AL with competitive compensation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is highly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete design of controls and automation engineering assignments.
- Lead or be a key team member on projects, mentoring junior engineers.
- Develop control system installation specifications and BOMs.
- Estimate level designs and equipment lists; produce cost studies for projects.
- Coordinate with staff and leaders to ensure timely completion and field startups.
