Job summary

AlterG Resources seeks a seasoned Controller to lead corporate accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, and internal controls under U.S. GAAP.

You will oversee the general ledger, close processes, and intercompany activity while partnering with executive leadership to drive governance and financial insights. The role emphasizes project economics, capital allocation, and operational performance across a fast-growing geothermal expansion, requiring strong analytical and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Big Four experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany activity.
• Establish close calendars, reconciliation standards, and standardized reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting and SOX-like controls.
• Lead ERP/project accounting systems implementation and optimization; improve automation and processes.
• Collaborate with CFO and executive leadership on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
• Prepare board/investor reporting packages and support project financing disclosures.
