Job summary

Plymouth Housing, based in Seattle, seeks a Senior Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for its real estate and related‑party entities. The role reports to the CFO and supervises the Senior Real Estate Accountants, focusing on complex GAAP, consolidation, and multi‑entity transactions.

You will oversee annual external audits, grant accounting, and budgeting for real estate operations while mentoring staff and driving process improvements in a mission‑driven nonprofit housing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership/controller role.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and publicly funded grants.
• Experience managing multi‑entity and consolidated financial statements.
• Experience leading external audits and governmental/funder audits.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational accounting for Plymouth’s real estate and related‑party entities.
• Oversee accounting for development and LIHTC projects.
• Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements with CFO and Nonprofit Controller.
• Direct annual external audits and funder reporting.
• Develop budgets and proformas for real estate entities and new housing projects.
• Provide GAAP guidance and mentor finance staff.
