Job summary

Civic Builders seeks an experienced Controller to lead internal accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for multiple entities and school facilities. You will oversee general ledger, payables/receivables, bank reconciliations, audits, and lender reporting while coordinating with senior leadership and external partners.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in nonprofit or real estate accounting, multi-entity management, and a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably with nonprofits, or real estate
• Experience managing accounting transactions in a complex multi-entity environment
• Expertise in nonprofit and real estate accounting and audit principles
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA desirable
• Experience preparing multiple financial statements and audits

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting processes, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting
• Prepare internal and external financial reporting for leadership, Board, lenders, and grant reports
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
• Manage lender reporting obligations, audits, and tax filings
• Support audits and external reporting for parent organizations and affiliates
