Job summary

American Coatings Association (ACA) in Washington, DC seeks a qualified candidate to assist in Controller-level activities within its Finance and Accounting Department. This role reports to the Senior Vice President and CFO and supports ACA, PaintCare, WCC, AC Media, and PaintPAC.

The ideal candidate will lead accounting processes, enforce GAAP standards, and drive process improvements. This is a full-time, hybrid position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Seven to ten years of related accounting experience with three+ years in management.
• Experience with 501(c)(6)/(501)(3) organizations and associated reporting is a plus.
• Experience with NetSuite and Planful Forecast & Budgets.
• Familiarity with online accounts payable tools such as Bill.com or similar.
• Experience with corporate credit card expense reporting tools (Ramp).
• Advanced MS Office skills including Excel with complex formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close and general ledger accuracy across ACA and subsidiaries.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages and variance analyses.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting in Planful; support senior leadership.
• Plan and manage annual external audit with the CFO and auditors.
