Job summary

American Coatings Association (ACA) seeks a qualified Controller to lead the Finance & Accounting team in Washington, DC, reporting to the Senior Vice President and CFO. This role encompasses controllership, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for ACA and its subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 7–10 years of accounting experience (3+ in management), strong GAAP knowledge, and hands-on experience with NetSuite, Planful, Bill.com, and Salesforce. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience with 3+ years in management.
• Experience with 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3) organizations preferable.
• Experience with NetSuite and Planful for reporting/budgeting.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting policies and month-end close with GAAP compliance.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for ACA and subsidiaries.
• Develop annual budgets and forecasts for parent and subsidiaries.
• Coordinate annual audit with external auditors.
• Ensure tax compliance and internal controls.
• Lead Finance & Accounting staff and mentor team.
