Job summary

HR Pals client, a chemical manufacturer, is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and seeks a senior Controller to consolidate results across franchisees, manage national accounts, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. The role partners with the CFO on FP&A, audits, and capital strategy, leading the Accounting and National Accounts teams and owning the close across Acumatica, Dynamics GP and TankOne.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience with multi-entity close.
• 3+ years running multi-entity close as Controller/Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager.
• Manufacturing experience required.
• Owns multi-entity close including intercompany and profit in inventory.
• Strong GAAP judgment; led external audit and designed controls.
• Experience with Order-to-cash or collections redesign.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Assistant Controller and National Accounts teams, including offshore support and outside providers; weekly KPI scorecard.
• Manage close timing and quality; consolidation and policy setting; monthly balance reconciliation.
• Oversee audits and controls; lead annual financial statements and 401(k) audits; ensure audit readiness.
• Oversee national accounts collections and order-to-cash processes; reduce past-due balances.
• Own accounting workflows in Claude-based Finance OS and coordinate with IT to align COA and fix issues; bring stores onto company systems; close within 90 days.
