Job summary

Bsdbusinessconsulting in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting team across multiple entities. You will own the close, audits and controls, reporting to senior finance leadership.

The role requires 15+ years of accounting and 10+ years in senior roles in mortgage servicing, with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and ERP experience. Hybrid schedule in the Chicago area is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification.
• 15+ years of accounting experience.
• 10+ years in senior accounting roles in mortgage servicing, including Controller-level experience.
• Background at a mid-size or large servicer or subservicer.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, payroll and accounts payable for all company entities.
• Run a timely month-end close and accurate financial reporting.
• Be the main contact for external auditors and regulators.
• Work with outside valuation firms on mortgage servicing rights (MSR).
• Keep balance sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations clean, with strong fraud controls.
• Oversee cash flow, debt reporting and lender covenant compliance.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.
• Set GAAP positions and review contracts for proper accounting treatment.
• Improve processes, policies and controls.
• Coach and grow the accounting team.

What you'll do
