Job summary

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior Controller or Senior Controller experience.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with mortgage servicing platforms and ERP systems.
• Strong communication, analytical and leadership abilities.
• Experience managing accounting teams and developing finance professionals.
• 10+ years of accounting leadership in mortgage servicing or related financial services.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Monitor lender covenant reporting and debt compliance requirements.
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting and multi-entity accounting operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory reviews.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and cash flow management.
• Evaluate and implement accounting process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Review and document accounting treatment for existing and emerging transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop, mentor, and lead accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with third-party valuation firms regarding MSR valuations and related reporting.
• Lead all accounting operations, including GL, AP, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Controllerto lead enterprise accounting operations across multiple business entities. This leadership role will oversee accounting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, regulatory compliance, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring significant mortgage servicing accounting experience, strong leadership capabilities, and deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, mortgage servicing rights (MSR) accounting, and investor reporting requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with mortgage servicing platforms and enterprise ERP systems.
• Experience managing accounting teams and developing finance professionals.
• 10+ years of accounting leadership experience within mortgage servicing or a closely related financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of:
  • U.S. GAAP
  • Financial Audits and Internal Controls
  • Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) Accounting and Valuation
  • Investor reporting requirements, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae environments
