The Marvin Group in Southern California near LAX is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead finance operations, ensure GAAP-based reporting, and support audits. You will mentor staff, manage cost accounting, and collaborate with tax and external advisors on complex projects.

This on-site role requires US citizenship, strong Excel and SAP experience, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional processes across manufacturing and defense programs.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• Minimum 7 years in finance & cost accounting in manufacturing, defense or government contracting.
• Experience managing staff and teams.
• Proficient in GAAP, federal, state and local tax reporting; knowledgeable in FAR and DFAR.
• Advanced MS-Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Hands-on experience with complex inventory valuations.
• SAP ERP experience or similar ERP is required.
• On-site role.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate, lead and mentor Finance employees for the independent audit of consolidated financial statements per GAAP, FAR and DFARs.
• Perform analytic analyses and explain drivers for financial statements and forecasts.
• Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships for accurate data in financial reporting.
• Contribute insights to control indirect cost center management and variances analysis.
• Coordinate physical inventory observations and collaborate with CPA firm and suppliers.
• Prepare inventory valuations including slow-moving reserves.
• Assist in tax project work including R&D credits, 263(a) capitalization, and related items.
• Assist in fixed assets tracking and depreciation accounting.
• Supervise Finance staff and assist in department management.
• Support tax compliance reporting and external audits.
