Job summary

Notabene is seeking a senior accounting leader to own the external audit, close, and accounting policy for a multi-entity, multi-currency business. You will work closely with the VP of Finance, manage external providers, and drive automation to scale operations across Notabene Inc. and Notabene GmbH.

You will oversee GAAP financial statements, intercompany eliminations, FX translation, and tax compliance, ensuring strong internal controls and auditable processes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager at a venture-backed company.
• Led first external audit and remediated findings in collaboration with auditors.
• Month-end close ownership across multiple legal entities in different currencies.
• Deep ASC 606 expertise applied to Revenue models and related policy development.
• Track record of building or leading a small accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Audit: run readiness, remediation plan, engage a firm, manage auditor relationship.
• Close and reporting: own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for multiple entities under GAAP.
• Technical accounting: write memos on ASC 606, ASC 350-40, ASC 718, and related topics.
• Revenue and billing systems: own Tabs configuration and data integrity from contract to GL.
• Cost accounting: develop payroll allocation and software capitalization policies.
• Controls: design and operate controls over revenue, cash, procure-to-pay, and payroll.
• Automation: evaluate and implement automation to reduce manual steps.
• Accounting operations: own AR, collections, AP and payroll accounting.
• Tax: coordinate US tax compliance with external advisers and Swiss compliance.
• External providers: own checklists and reconciliations to ensure Notabene-owned close.
