Job summary

Veo, a leading micromobility company, is seeking an Associate Controller to lead the accounting function, oversee close processes, and drive scalable financial systems in a fast-growing environment. You will report to the CFO and partner cross-functionally to strengthen reporting and internal controls.

This role requires deep GAAP expertise, strategic thinking, and a hands-on leadership style in a hybrid setup based near Santa Monica.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership in a high-growth environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting research, and audit readiness.
• Experience leading accounting orgs, audits, and scalable finance systems.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite) and finance tools (Stampli, Brex, Ramp, Cube, Jirav, Fathom).
• Excellent executive communication and cross-functional partnership.
• Start-Up/venture-backed experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Oversee monthly financials, balance sheets, and supporting schedules; partner with FP&A.
• Research, document, and implement technical accounting guidance (equity, leases, software capitalization, foreign ops).
• Design and improve policies, internal controls, and audit readiness.
• Lead accounting systems improvements and automation to scale operations.
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory reporting.
