Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting operations in Phoenix, AZ. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close, while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

This role partners with executive leadership to deliver strategic financial insights, manages and mentors the accounting team, and drives process improvements. A CPA and 10+ years of progressive financial leadership are highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA designation strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership including Controller roles
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
Proven expertise in audits, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and FP&A
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems; ERP implementation experience preferred

Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end close
Ensure GAAP compliance, tax regulations, and internal controls while driving financial accuracy and efficiency
Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights that support growth
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering accountability and professional development
