Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a seasoned Controller in Houston to oversee accounting and financial reporting for a business unit. You will ensure data integrity, support budgeting and forecasting, and drive internal controls while partnering with leadership to deliver insights for informed decisions.

You will manage month-end close, coordinate audits, and lead multi-location financial reporting. Ideal candidate has CPA (preferred), 8+ years of experience, and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 8+ years progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and controls.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Experience coordinating external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Experience developing or monitoring internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data with thorough reviews.
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support Management and Board reports and analyses.
• Assist in annual budgets and forecasts with variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal controls design and monitoring.
• Support external audits and regulatory compliance activities.
• Collaborate with finance and operational leadership to drive performance.
